Iraqis suspend military operations in Diyala (AP)

AP - The Iraqi government said Monday it has halted military operations in Diyala province for a week to give insurgents time to surrender, even as deadly bombings struck the area northeast of Baghdad.

AFP - Six people were killed on Monday in two powerful bombings in the central Iraqi province of Diyala where thousands of Iraqi soldiers are hunting down Al-Qaeda fighters, officials said.
